George Michael tried not to cry as he told reporters he nearly died when he had pneumonia for a month. Michael says it was "touch and go" for a while and he suggested he'd been in a coma. He spoke about having "woken up" ten days ago. Michael also says he needed a tracheotomy to help him breathe. Michael says he had an extremely dangerous form of pneumonia and that his doctors spent three weeks keeping him alive. Michael's publicist never let on in his public statements. He says they "played it down" so fans wouldn't get upset. He says it was the worst month of his life. Michael says he's still "very weak." He seemed short of breath and had trouble speaking at times. He also seemed to have lost weight.
