It was 5:30 p.m. when the fire department were called out to Balligomingo Road.
When they arrived they found a home fully engulfed in flames.
Additional fire departments were dispatched to the scene to assist.
The smoke could be seen from the Schuylkill Expressway, causing traffic to back up in the area.
No injuries have been reported.
