Philly band on mission to teach music inspired by the Taíno

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A band from North Philadelphia is on a mission to perform and teach music inspired by the Taíno, the indigenous people of the Caribbean.

The Taíno dates back more than 500 years.

The band performs at events and visits schools to teach children about that beautiful culture.

6abc photojournalist Dave Edwards caught up with the band on Sunday in Philadelphia's Kensington section.
